Neometro Back to Brunswick with New Townhouse Project

Neometro 146 Union Street Brunswick townhouses

Melbourne-based developer Neometro has announced a new townhouse project at 146 Union Street, Brunswick, marking the company’s fifth development in the suburb.

The project would comprise 24 three-bedroom townhouses designed for long-term residential use, with prices beginning at $1.55 million and completion scheduled for 2027.

The site is near Jewell Station Village, behind Sydney Road in a residential pocket of Brunswick in Melbourne’s inner north.

Neometro director Lochlan Sinclair said “the project reflects our ongoing commitment to thoughtful residential architecture designed to meet people’s needs now and in the future”.

Sinclair said the project was motivated by strong market demand for move-in-ready homes.

“Older homes often need a costly renovation on top of the original purchase price and there’s great value in a new architect-designed, energy-efficient, move-in-ready townhouse designed for modern living,” he said.

Sinclair said medium-density housing offered “crucial middle ground” that “allows people to stay connected to the culture and amenity of established inner suburbs, without being priced out or forced into long commutes”.

The Union Street project would feature spatial planning designed for family use, with materials focused on durability for residential use.

The development is within walking distance of local schools, parks and retail facilities in the inner north, where housing demand continues to exceed supply in the established suburb market.

Founded in 1985, Neometro has focused on medium-density residential development in Melbourne and has received recognition from the Australian Institute of Architects, including the Sir Osborne McCutcheon Award and the Houses Award for apartment or unit design.

Neometro’s 49 Walsh Street development in South Yarra, comprising 10 apartments designed by Italian architecture firm MORQ, is now selling with prices from $3.9 million to more than $20 million.

The developer’s 450 Gore Street project at Fitzroy, designed by Edition Office and comprising 18 apartments, is also selling with prices starting at $1.395 million for lofts.
