Building Australia's Newest Airport: Multiplex

Major construction works have been completed on the Western Sydney International Airport, which has been billed as a “24-hour international gateway”.

The airport has been built to service 10 million passengers a year when it opens the terminal doors in 2026.

But for Multiplex construction manager Manos Sartzetakis it’s a “once-in-a-lifetime” project.

The Urban Developer goes behind the scenes with Multiplex on the technology, construction innovation and collaboration that helped to create Australia’s newest airport.

It’s also the nation’s first new greenfield international airport in more than 50 years.

While work continues on the surrounding Aerotropolis and the Western Sydney Airport Metro connection, the terminal itself is being celebrated for its sustainable design.

It features more than 6000 solar panels, rainfall capture and recycling.

Go behind the scenes with this exclusive on-demand webinar.
