Social Housing Full Steam Ahead at WA’s ‘Transit-Rich’ Bayswater

Plans for a $36-million, nine-storey social and affordable housing tower a stone’s throw from Bayswater train station in north-eastern Perth have been filed for state approval.
The 72-apartment building proposed by Community Housing Investments (WA) for 7-11 King William Street would be financed using state and federal funding aligned with the Housing Australia Future Fund.
The tower, designed by national architecture firm Rothelowman, includes a 50/50 mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, street-level retail tenancies and landscaped communal areas.
