Bondor Metecno’s MetSeam Elevates Facade Design Style

Much like composing music, designing a building’s facade is about creating rhythm and pattern. Architects can use lines, shadows, and patterns to bring movement and harmony to a building’s appearance.

With MetSeam, architects have the instrument to compose their design, using aluminium fins to add interest and movement to exterior walls.

Developed by Bondor Metecno, MetSeam is a new decorative aluminium fin system designed with this creative process in mind.

Engineered to work seamlessly with insulated wall panels, MetSeam allows architects and designers to add striking vertical lines to facades, mimicking the elegant look of standing seam cladding.

Designed in response to architects’ needs

Designed directly in response to what the market is asking for, Bondor Metecno listened to feedback from architects, building owners, and their own sales team, who all wanted the popular standing seam look on high-performance insulated facades.

Traditional ways of achieving this look are complicated and can bring performance trade-offs. By paying attention to these needs and challenges, Bondor Metecno focused on creating a robust, purpose-built fin that would work seamlessly with their existing insulated panels.

The result is MetSeam, offering architects the design flexibility and clean aesthetic they are looking for, without compromising the performance of the building envelope.

Elevating facade design with style, versatility

MetSeam is all about creating elegant verticality and giving building facades a refined, modern touch.

When installed, the aluminium fins catch the light and cast shadows that shift throughout the day, adding depth and movement to the building’s appearance.

The fixings are hidden, so the lines remain uninterrupted and crisp, resulting in a clean and contemporary look.

Architects have the flexibility to play with the spacing of the fins—tight, evenly spaced fins can create a more restrained and formal feel, while wider or varied groupings offer a bold, expressive look.

This approach allows for a cost-effective way to achieve the sought-after standing seam style, without the complexity of traditional cladding systems.

Design freedom without compromise

MetSeam is designed to enhance a building’s appearance without compromising its sustainability or efficiency.

Because it’s a decorative accessory, MetSeam doesn’t affect the thermal insulation or energy performance of the wall system—those benefits remain with the proven insulated panels behind it.

MetSeam is designed to be used with Bondor Metecno’s insulated panels, which carry CodeMark certification and are supported by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). This means that while MetSeam provides an aesthetic upgrade, the proven performance, compliance, and sustainability credentials come from the certified Bondor Metecno panels they are attached to.

With MetSeam, architects can achieve the look they want while maintaining the building’s performance and environmental credentials.

Easy and efficient installation

MetSeam is designed to eliminate on-site guesswork, speed up installation, and deliver a professional result across a wide range of building types.

The system features an aluminium base extrusion with pre-punched slots every 300mm, making it easy to manage thermal expansion and set out the fins accurately.

Installers can choose between two fixing methods—attaching the fin along the panel’s outer skin or fixing it back to the structure at support points—both clearly explained in the design and installation guide.

Once the base is secured, a snap-on cover plate conceals the fasteners, ensuring a seamless, clean finish. Built-in safeguards, like limiting the number of fasteners per support, help maintain panel integrity.

Versatile style for any project

MetSeam truly shines in its versatility and ability to elevate a wide range of building projects.

Whether it’s adding a refined architectural touch to high-end homes or bringing a contemporary edge to commercial, educational, or retail spaces, MetSeam delivers a sleek, modern look that stands out.

It’s compatible with a variety of Bondor Metecno insulated panels, making it easy to integrate into projects of different scales.

The system is especially effective in non-cyclonic regions and is ideal for designers seeking the striking standing seam aesthetic without the complexity of traditional cladding.

Additionally, MetSeam offers the benefit of concealed fixings, providing a clean, uninterrupted facade and solving a common challenge in facade design.

Discover the possibilities with MetSeam

MetSeam brings together thoughtful design, practical installation, and lasting performance to offer architects and designers a new way to elevate building facades.

By listening to the needs of the industry, Bondor Metecno has created a system that not only delivers the sought-after standing seam look, but also maintains the integrity and efficiency of the building envelope.

With its flexible design options, concealed fixings, and compatibility with proven insulated panels, MetSeam makes it easier than ever to achieve a clean, contemporary finish without added complexity.
