Builder-Developer’s $165m Palm Beach Tower Approved

Palm Beach BPG Dev DA Approval Jefferson Lane hero

Builder-developer BPG Developments has capped off the year with another development approval, adding a $165-million Gold Coast tower to its pipeline of South-East Queensland projects.

To be known as Palmiere, the greenlit 14-storey scheme comprises 58 apartments, eight penthouses and three integrated townhouses.

It is earmarked for an amalgamated 1733sq m site fronting the exclusive Jefferson Lane and 1053-1055 Gold Coast Highway at Palm Beach.

The latest approval follows BPG—led by Nick Parr and Glen Williams—securing the development nod for its $250-million, 15-storey residential tower at inner-city Brisbane’s Newstead—its largest project so far.

As well, it heralds the Brisbane-based company’s return to the Gold Coast development hotspot a few years after completing its nearby nine-storey, 39-apartment Sable on Palm project.

Parr said its Palmiere project reflected “the next phase in Palm Beach’s growth”.

“Our vision was to deliver a project of enduring quality—one that responds to its beachfront location through thoughtful design and functionality,” he said.

“As a builder-developer, we have full oversight of every stage of delivery, which gives us greater control over quality, timelines and outcomes.”

BPG co-founder Glen Williams said the project would build on the company’s growing coastal portfolio and reinforces its commitment to design-led, long-term residential developments across South-East Queensland.

“Each project we undertake is considered and deliberate, with a focus on long-term value and design integrity rather than volume,” he said.

Designed by Plus Studio, Palmiere will feature a coastal-inspired, “sunbaked” aesthetic featuring raw, earthy blush and rust tones, soft curves, organic sculptural forms and extensive travertine detailing.

“Our focus has been on contributing a calm, finely detailed addition to Palm Beach that supports the suburb’s evolution as a design-led, residential beachfront neighbourhood,” Plus Studio principal Chrisney Formosa said.

“Architecturally, it is sculpted from the rhythm of the coast—its flowing shell-inspired form and sand-hued facade creating an iconic silhouette along the shoreline.”

Residents will have access to a suite of wellness-focused amenities.

The upper ground level oriented to Jefferson Lane will incorporate communal open space, including a pool, outdoor deck comprising outdoor seating areas, wellness space and a barbecue area.

Meanwhile, Josh Foote’s Ignite Projects has engaged builder OBX for its boutique Retreat Palm Beach development at nearby 188 Jefferson Lane.

The move has come off the back of a stellar early sales run in which more than half of its 56 two and three-bedroom apartments were secured off-the-plan.

Earthworks are already under way on the site and construction of the nine-storey project is slated to begin in the new year.
