Every year an estimated 50 million to 80 million waves break along the Gold Coast’s beaches, drawing surfers from around the world.

But one wave is on the horizon that promises to shift the paradigm —not only in the water but across the city’s development sector.

And it won’t be breaking on sand but in a concrete lined lagoon about 10km inland from Surfers Paradise, the beachside brand upon which the city was built.
