Consolidated’s Yeerongpilly Highrise Waved Ahead

The green light has been given to take an evolving masterplanned neighbourhood within one of Brisbane’s 2032 Olympic Games precincts to new heights.

Consolidated Properties Group has won approval for a 25-storey residential tower at its 14ha Yeerongpilly Green project, about 8km south of the city’s CBD.

Earmarked for a 4323sq m site at 30 Bedivere Street, it will be just a well-placed lob from the Queensland Tennis Centre and short walk to the upgraded Yeerongpilly cross river rail station.

The Rothelowman-designed tower is the first of up to five highrises slated for the precinct, which has been a decade in the making and originally planned to deliver 1200 homes, 8000sq m of commercial and 8750sq m of retail space, as well as 1.8ha of parkland.

It will comprise 181 two and three-bedroom apartments with rooftop amenities, ground-floor lobby and 1500sq m of landscaped gardens.

“Yeerongpilly Green is quickly becoming a thriving riverside neighbourhood,” Consolidated Properties chief executive and chairman Don O’Rorke said.

He said the tower project was targeting “people who want to downsize but who won’t compromise on living space” and would also provide an “incredibly rare” northern elevated view of the Brisbane River, city lights, Indooroopilly golf course and Mt Coot-tha.

Meanwhile, the Queensland-based developer has also filed plans for another 25-storey tower along the Brisbane River at inner-city Newstead, just months after acquiring the site from Mirvac.

Under the proposed scheme designed by Woods Bagot, it would deliver 247 homes—including 235 apartments in the tower and 12 ultra-luxury residences in a four-storey riverfront building.

Consolidated Properties secured the 9368sq m site at 47 Skyring Terrace—about 3.5km north of the city centre—in July after inking a $64.5-million deal.

In March, it topped out another landmark riverside project—its $460-million twin tower Monarch Residences development on the former Brisbane ABC site at Toowong in the city’s inner-west.

The finishing touches are now being put on the two 15-storey towers designed by Wardle Architects and Cottee Parker. Overall, the development at 600 Coronation Drive includes 224 luxury apartments.
