Court Rejects Bid for 158-Home Estate at Agnes Water

Plans for a growing Queensland community are in jeopardy after a 158-home housing estate was rejected by the courts.
At a hearing this month, the Queensland Planning and Environment Court (QPEC) dismissed an appeal by Custom Land Group against the Gladstone Regional Council’s decision to reject its housing plans at Agnes Water, about 490km north of Brisbane.
The Seventeen Seventy-based developer, which has two projects at Agnes Water in progress as well as one in NSW, wanted to reconfigure and develop a new housing estate on an 18.26ha site.
