Appeal Wipes Builder’s $2.1m Claim Against Ryde Developer

A NSW Supreme Court ruling that ordered a developer to pay a builder more than $2 million has been overturned, wiping the builder’s claim entirely.

Developer Kaloriziko Pty Ltd, an entity related to Drummoyne resident Eddie Tran and Camile Chanine, father of Marwan and Ziad Chanine of Chanine Developments, appealed against a decision by the Supreme Court earlier this year. The same court in June of this year ordered the developer to pay $2.1 million to Calibre Construction Group.

The dispute arose over a design and construct contract for the development of a 100-apartment complex at Ryde, 13km west of the Sydney CBD.
