Bronte Proposes Townhouse, Apartment Mix for Canberra

CENTRAL PARK HERO

A Canberra developer has lodged a development application for a residential village in a newly developed suburb.

Bronte Group has proposed 152 homes for the suburb of Denman Prospect in the Molonglo Valley, which follows the approval of another Bronte project, Solai.

The approved development is under construction and comprises 31 townhomes and 40 apartments across six buildings at Denman Prospect—paving the way for the newly lodged development application.

The developer wants to add a further 152 homes to Denman North along Lex Watson Circuit, with a mix of  42 townhomes, 62 apartments and 48 walk-up apartments across eight buildings.

The Stewart Architecture-designed Central Park, if approved, would span a 15,000sq m site, with green space in the middle.

Bordering Central Park would be a community garden with shared barbecue and picnic areas, greenhouses, public garden beds and lockable storage space.

Solai and Central Park would suit a wide range of buyers, from first-time home owners and investors to owner-occupiers, Bronte Group said.

“The one bedroom apartment floorplans will make for great investment properties with great expected rental returns in the suburb,” a Bronte Group spokesperson said.

Denman Prospect is a suburb under development in stages, similar to how Pimpama started on the Gold Coast.

Denman got its name in honour of Lady Denman, the wife of the fifth governor-general of Australia, Lord Denman, who was an English baron and part of the British aristocracy.

Apartments will have one to three bedrooms and townhouses will have two and three bedroom offerings across the development sites.
